Traffic arrangements, alternative routes announced for Arab Summit


Manama, The General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior announced traffic arrangements for the 33rd Arab Summit.

The arrangements include temporary traffic diversions on some roads for specific periods on Wednesday and Thursday, May 15 and 16.

The directorate said that during the morning and evening periods of Wednesday, May 15, traffic will be regulated on the streets from the Bahrain International Airport intersection up to the Seef District.

It added that traffic regulation will extend on Thursday, May 16, over three periods, morning and evening. It will include streets from the Bahrain International Airport intersection up to Zallaq Street and the Sakhir Palace roundabout.

The directorate recommended that road users coming from the Southern and Northern Governorates should take the Shaikh Isa bin Salman Highway, Shaikh Salman Highway, and Shaikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah Highway.

The directorate also recommended that drivers from the Capital Governorate to take Al Fateh Highway, Governme
nt Road, and sub-roads. As for those from Muharraq Governorate, the directorate suggested that they use the Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Bridge, Dry Dock Highway, Arad Highway, Raya Highway, Shaikh Salman Highway and Shaikh Hamad Bridge.

The residents of Busaiteen and nearby areas are recommended to use the Shaikh Hamad bridge.

The directorate recommended that the residents of Dair, Samaheej, Qalali, Hidd, and the nearby areas should take the Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Bridge.

The directorate called upon road users to follow instructions and cooperate with the traffic police to ensure the plan’s success, adding that further traffic instructions are to be announced later.
