Tourism Minister Highlights Strategic Partnership with FIBA 3×3 to Boost Bahrain’s Sports Tourism

Manama: Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism and Chairperson of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), announced that Bahrain's hosting of the final round of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour on 21 - 22 November highlights the strength of the Authority's ongoing partnership with the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).

According to Bahrain News Agency, the collaboration, now in its third year, underscores growing confidence in Bahrain's capacity to deliver world-class sporting events. The Minister remarked that the tournament forms a key part of BTEA's strategy to expand sports tourism, generating significant public interest and extensive media coverage while promoting Bahrain's cultural and tourism offerings on an international stage.

Minister Al Sairafi acknowledged the support of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC). She emphasized that His Highness's backing has enabled Bahrain to host major international competitions, positioning the Kingdom as an attractive destination for sports enthusiasts worldwide.

She affirmed BTEA's commitment to continue hosting major sporting events that bolster Bahrain's reputation in the sports-tourism sector and create new opportunities for the tourism industry and the broader economy. The Minister noted that the Manama Final has become a landmark event on FIBA's global calendar, with Bahrain strongly linked to its success.
