Manama: Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism and Chairperson of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), emphasised that Bahraini Women's Day is a national occasion to celebrate the role of women in nation-building and their active contribution to Bahrain's comprehensive development. She commended the strong support provided by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which has significantly led to the growth of women's participation across all levels.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Al Sairafi noted that the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, have implemented the royal vision through practical measures, integrating women's needs into government plans and enabling them to hold leadership positions. She highlighted that the Supreme Council for Women, chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the SCW, has, since its establishment, succeeded in developing and implementing national strategies that support women and strengthen their ability to reach decision-making positions.
Al Sairafi noted the growing presence of Bahraini women in tourism and hospitality, including hotels, destination management companies, and event management institutions, through which they have contributed to boosting Bahrain's position as a leading tourism destination.
