Manama: Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, engaged with representatives of commercial centres in the Kingdom of Bahrain as part of periodic meetings aimed at enhancing partnership with the tourism sector and reviewing preparations for upcoming tourism seasons and events. The focus of these discussions was to strengthen Bahrain's appeal as a leading destination for visitors.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Al Sairafi emphasized that Bahrain's modern commercial centres are a key component of the tourism experience. She highlighted how the diverse shopping, entertainment, dining, and family-oriented activities available within these centres contribute significantly to attracting more visitors from both within and outside Bahrain.
Minister Al Sairafi further noted that the variety of options available caters to different age groups and interests, supporting Bahrain's position as a destination capable of offering distinctive experiences that combine shopping, entertainment, and hospitality. She affirmed that partnerships with commercial centres are crucial for supporting tourism growth and achieving the objectives set out in the Tourism Strategy 2022-2026.
The meeting also reviewed the latest developments in the tourism sector and explored means to expand cooperation to enhance visitor experiences. This is in line with reinforcing Bahrain's position on the regional and international tourism map. Participants discussed the "Walahna Alaikum" campaign and the summer promotional campaign aimed at attracting visitors from GCC countries, alongside upcoming events and programmes included in the tourism calendar.
Moreover, the meeting included discussions on proposals to develop joint initiatives and offers during the summer season. This would be achieved through cooperation between commercial centres and tourism sector stakeholders, aiming to provide integrated experiences that meet the expectations of the GCC market and enhance visitor experiences. The proposals included launching offers that combine shopping, entertainment activities, dining experiences, family events, and tourism experiences, further enhancing Bahrain's competitiveness as a preferred destination for Gulf families during the summer season.
