Manama: On the occasion of the University of Bahrain's academic achievement in joining the Times Higher Education World University Rankings of globally recognised research universities, Dr. Phil Baty, Chief Global Affairs Officer at Times Higher Education, congratulated the University of Bahrain (UoB) for this milestone, noting that it will positively contribute to enhancing the University's global standing.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Baty congratulated UoB on its historic achievement of joining the distinguished group of global research universities listed in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. He noted that the rankings provide the world's most comprehensive and rigorous assessment of research-intensive universities, with the listed institutions representing less than 10 percent of universities worldwide.
Dr. Baty noted that the Times Higher Education ranking system includes 17 separate performance indicators that assess teaching, research, industry engagement, and international outlook. He emphasised that the ranking applies strict standards for the inclusion of research outputs in reputable academic journals, in addition to precise criteria that involve the world's largest academic reputation survey, conducted by invitation and peer-reviewed by international experts.
