The State Council demands the speedy publication of investigations into the issue of communication with the Zionist entity

The High Council of State demanded, on Sunday, to expedite the publication of the details of the investigations on the issue of communication with the Zionist entity and the condemnation of the personalities involved in the case.

Today, the High Council of State held a consultative session in Tripoli, attended by 48 members, to discuss the repercussions of the Minister of Foreign Affairs’ meeting with the Zionist entity’s foreign minister.

During the session, the council condemned any contacts with the Zionist entity at any level, emphasizing the national constants and criminalizing contacts according to the laws in force.

The head of the national unity government had suspended Minister al-Mangoush from work and formed a committee headed by Minister of Justice Halima al-Busaifi to investigate the incident and to submit its report to the head of government within three days.

And on Saturday, the Libyan Attorney General announced the formation of a fact-finding committee about the “incident” of Foreign Minister Najla al-Mangoush’s meeting with the Zionist entity’s Foreign Minister Eli Cohen.

The committee will undertake the task of investigating the extent of damage to the interests of the Libyan state from the intelligence reports, according to what the Public Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.

The committee will also work to “collect evidentiary materials necessary to carry out the interrogation procedure of those who were invited to the meeting, including hearing the statements of those from whom clarifications necessary to investigate the incident can be obtained.”
