Representatives of the Russian State Duma, "House of Representatives", condemned the insult to the feelings of Muslims by burning a copy of the Noble Qur'an in Sweden in front of the main Stockholm mosque on the first day of Eid al-Adha.
In a statement today, Thursday, the State Duma affirmed its condemnation of this act for insulting the feelings of Muslims. The statement is expected to be sent to the president, the government in Russia, the United Nations, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS member states, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Europe and other organizations.
The Swedish police had allowed the burning of the Noble Qur’an in front of the main mosque in Stockholm on the first day of Eid al-Adha.
An extremist Swede, under the protection of the Swedish authorities, burned the Noble Qur’an.”
