The Prime Minister renews the government’s support for the activities of volunteer teams


Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani renewed the government’s support for the activities of volunteer teams, and appreciated their humanitarian and social work.

The Prime Minister’s media office stated: “Today, Al-Sudani met with a number of volunteer work activists, who presented influential humanitarian and charitable initiatives that left their mark on society and beneficiaries, from various groups and activities.”

Al-Sudani exchanged congratulations with the audience and praised the work performed by the volunteers, which included important humanitarian stories. He pointed out the importance of volunteer work and humanitarian service as a bond that strengthens the bonds of society, enhances individuals’ belief in the importance of social solidarity and spreads the spirit of assistance and mutual trust, which is ultimately reflected in stability and civil and social peace.

He stressed the government’s endeavor to support volunteer activities by launching the major volunteer campaign at the end of las
t year, approving a number of decisions in the Council of Ministers to support these activities, and directing all state ministries and institutions to provide assistance, response, and facilities to volunteers. This sponsorship culminated in the celebration of Iraqi Volunteer Day, in gratitude for these efforts and to highlight its positive results.

The Prime Minister directed to follow up on the outcomes of his previous directives regarding volunteers, and to use volunteer teams to monitor emergency situations through modern electronic applications in order to quickly respond to them, expressing his appreciation for their efforts in caring for vulnerable groups, families of martyrs, and families and individuals with special needs, stressing: ‘ The country has overcome the plight of ISIS thanks to solidarity and volunteer work, and volunteers sometimes arrive before the state to places of crisis.
