The Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi, discussed with the Head of the Acting Civil Aviation Authority, the Minister of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, Benkin Rekani, ways to develop the aviation sector, and the issue of lifting the European ban on the Iraqi national carrier.
The Ministry stated in a statement: ‘The Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi, visited, along with the Director General of Iraqi Airways, Manaf Abdel Moneim, the Director General of the Airports and Air Navigation Administration, Abbas Al-Baydani, and the Head of the Civil Aviation Authority, Benkin Rikani, to discuss a number of important issues, most notably the issue of lifting the European ban imposed on Iraqi Airways.
The two sides agreed on the necessity of returning the green bird to European airspace, after completing international procedures and standards for the aviation sector.
The meeting reviewed the procedures and plans established to improve safety and security standar
ds in Iraqi civil aviation, stressing the importance of intensifying efforts and continuous cooperation between the various concerned parties to achieve this goal, which contributes to strengthening the position of Iraqi aviation on the international scene and providing distinguished services to travelers.
