The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, directed to strengthen the traffic plan in conjunction with the Arbaeen visit, and to install traffic signs on the roads.
The ministry stated in a statement: Al-Shammari chaired a meeting in the presence of the Undersecretary for Police Affairs and a number of advisors and directors in the ministry, with the advanced staff in the General Traffic Directorate, and all traffic directors in the governorates also attended it via television.
The work of the General Traffic Directorate was discussed, where the Minister stressed the need to work on building new vehicle registration centers in the governorates with a high level of services and optimal equipment that serves people in a manner that befits them, in addition to building joint traffic centers of traffic, rescue, ambulance and civil defence to monitor traffic and accidents, especially on highways, according to modern technology.
He directed the strengthening of the traffic plan in conjunction with the Arbaeen visit, installing traffic signs on the roads, as well as Developing traffic work and initiating smart traffic lights.
The Minister also listened to a number of interventions and discussions by those present with the aim of improving the work and knowing the most important needs for the work of the traffic departments in Baghdad and the provinces./ End
