The High Council of the State elects (Mohammed Moftah Takala) as President of the Council, to succeed Khaled Al-Mashri.

Today, Sunday, in Tripoli, the High Council of the State elected “Muhammad Muftah Takala” as President of the Council, during a session to vote on the presidency of the Council.

Khaled Al-Mashri, Muhammad Takala, Naima Al-Hami, and Naji Mukhtar were nominated for the presidency of the council.

Muhammad Takala won the presidency of the High Council of the State in the second round, by obtaining 67 votes, while Khaled Al-Mashri got 62 votes.

Khaled Al-Mishri received 49 votes in the first round of voting, while Muhammad Takala got 39 votes, Naji Mukhtar got 36 votes, and Naima Al-Hami got 4 votes.

It is noteworthy that the High Council of State was established after the signing of the political agreement in the Moroccan city of Skhirat on December 17, 2015 under the auspices of the United Nations.
