Baghdad: The National Investment Commission signed the investment license for a solar power station project with the French company Total Energy, with a capacity of 1,000 megawatts in Basra Governorate.
The Chairman of the Commission, Haider Muhammad Makkiya, said during the signing ceremony: ‘This project is considered the first investment opportunity for a solar power station within the government’s plan to diversify renewable energy sources.’
He added: ‘This project will add the solar energy produced to the national grid.’
