The Coordination Framework expresses its keenness to hold local elections characterized by professionalism and integrity

The Coordination Framework held its periodic meeting this evening, Thursday, in the office of Ammar al-Hakim, in the presence of the Prime Minister.

The meeting reviewed developments in the political, security and service scene, as well as the ongoing preparations for running local elections.

The Coordination Framework expressed its keenness to hold local elections characterized by professionalism and integrity, calling on the Iraqi people to actively participate and assume their national responsibility.

The Coordination Framework announced that it will participate in the elections with more than one list, provided that all lists gather under one coalition after the elections.

Regarding the fabricated crisis over the borders between Iraq and Kuwait, the coordination framework deplored the practices carried out by some people to whitewash the image of the graved Saddam regime and its concessions and distort the facts by attaching these accusations to successive governments after 2003. They are trying to spread lies about the existence of new baseless concessions, forgetting the magnitude of the tragedy that is caused by that oppressive regime for both brotherly peoples, following its invasion of the State of Kuwait in August 1990.
