Manama: Ten insulin pumps were provided to children with diabetes in a community initiative attended by Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Health (SCH) and Chairman of the Bahrain Diabetes Society, along with Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Honourary President of the Good Word Society.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah praised the Good Word Society for its efforts and collaboration with the Bahrain Diabetes Society in supplying the pumps. He emphasized the impact of these tools in aiding children to manage diabetes more efficiently and enhancing their quality of life.
Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah also acknowledged the Zakat and Charity Fund at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf for its role in providing insulin pumps, devices, and glucose monitoring sensors for children with diabetes. He highlighted the importance of this support in alleviating the financial burden on patients and their families regarding healthcare needs.
He reiterated the SCH's dedication to improving healthcare services and fostering cooperation between health, charitable, and community organizations to support patients and enhance their quality of life.
The initiative underscores the significance of community partnership in aiding children with diabetes and promoting the values of solidarity and giving within Bahraini society.
