Ten Dead, 33 Missing After Mountain Floods in Northwest China

Yuzhong: Ten people have died and 33 others are missing after heavy rainfall caused mountain floods in Yuzhong County, Gansu Province, in northwest China.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the heavy rain started on Thursday evening in Yuzhong and other areas of Lanzhou, with accumulated rainfall reaching 220.2 millimetres by Friday noon. This extreme weather event has led to significant disruption and has prompted urgent rescue and recovery efforts by local authorities.

Two days prior to the events in Gansu Province, authorities had reported that seven people were missing following a landslide triggered by heavy rain in Guangdong Province, southern China. This highlights a concerning pattern of severe weather impacting multiple regions across China, posing challenges to emergency services and communities in affected areas.
