Telecommunications Minister Meets Qatari Transport Minister to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Manama: Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, held a significant meeting with Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani, Minister of Transport of the State of Qatar. The discussions were rooted in enhancing the Kingdom of Bahrain's historical ties and strategic partnership with Qatar, with a focus on expanding cooperation across various transport sectors.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed underscored the importance of collaboration in land, sea, and air transport, as well as logistics services, to serve common interests under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar. Both ministers explored opportunities for cooperation in transport infrastructure development, logistics, and investment, along with the exchange of technical knowledge and expertise.

The meeting also included a review of economic integration efforts within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) aimed at supporting regional growth and prosperity. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah reiterated Qatar's commitment to enhancing collaboration with Bahrain in transport, logistics, ports, and civil aviation, emphasizing the significance of these sectors in promoting sustainable development and accelerating economic integration within the GCC.

During the visit, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed and his delegation conducted field visits to key Qatari transport and logistics entities, including Hamad Port, Qatar Ports Management Company (Mwani Qatar), Mowasalat (Karwa), and Qatar Rail. These visits provided insights into the developments in land transport, railways, and maritime navigation, further solidifying the cooperative relationship between the two nations.
