Manama: The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) has launched an updated regulatory framework for its training programmes, targeting an improvement in their effectiveness and outcomes. This development accompanies Tamkeen's periodic review of several training programmes that facilitate the acquisition of professional certificates across various specialties.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the updated framework introduces procedures and regulatory controls to assess the impact of these programmes on beneficiaries. It mandates periodic reviews to ensure alignment with Tamkeen's strategic goals and includes follow-up measures to evaluate the programmes' influence on professional development.
The recent review involved a detailed examination of certification processes, leading to the delisting of 20 certificates and revisions to the support criteria and requirements for six others. This action aims to enhance the programmes' effectiveness in line with Tamkeen's strategy to cultivate national talent, improve labour market participation, and support entrepreneurship.
Tamkeen remains committed to evaluating the training programmes' effects on professional growth and employment opportunities. Continuous engagement with programme participants helps track their progress and ensures the training's quality through various follow-up procedures.
Throughout the year, more than 30 inspections were carried out by training providers, and over 400 beneficiaries were surveyed to assess the programmes' impact on their career development. This included gathering feedback and monitoring career progression and job placement in collaboration with relevant institutions.
This initiative is in line with Tamkeen's strategic priorities for 2025, which emphasize bolstering the competitiveness of Bahrainis in the private sector, enhancing skills for career development, and focusing on enterprise growth, digitisation, and sustainability.
