Tamkeen Partners with KPMG to Launch Bahrain’s First Digital Skills Platform

Manama:The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) has entered into an agreement with KPMG in Bahrain to develop the nation's first digital skills platform under the initiative "Skills Bahrain." This collaboration aims to create an integrated digital ecosystem supported by artificial intelligence to connect skills with labour market opportunities and enhance national talent development.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Digital Skills Platform will unify various stakeholders in the labour market, including students, jobseekers, employees, employers, education and training providers, and policymakers. This platform will establish a national skills framework to align skills with labour market demands, allowing users to create digital skills profiles and receive personalized training and professional development recommendations.

The platform is designed to support skills-based employment and career progression, enabling employers to attract and develop talent while planning for future needs based on labour market indicators. The first phase is expected to launch next year as part of Tamkeen's 2026-2030 strategy focused on enhancing national talent competitiveness.

Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of Tamkeen, emphasized the agreement's significance in advancing Bahrain's skills development ecosystem and aligning education and training outcomes with employer requirements. This initiative is part of Tamkeen's strategic priorities to build a sustainable, innovation-driven economy by 2026.

Jamal Fakhro, Chairman of KPMG in Bahrain, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the role of the Digital Skills Platform in shaping Bahrain's workforce. By leveraging KPMG's expertise in digital transformation, the platform aims to provide practical insights and personalized career pathways using artificial intelligence.

KPMG will collaborate with a global company specializing in digital skills solutions to incorporate international best practices.
