Tamkeen Launches Digital Skills Training Initiative for Bahrainis.

Manama: The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) announced the opening of applications for specialized training in technology and digital marketing. Through this exciting new initiative, Tamkeen will support training for Bahrainis in some of the most in-demand digital fields. This comes as part of Tamkeen's collaboration with Localised, a global platform that links talent with employers, and Skills Union, the experts in delivering hands-on training and career guidance. According to Bahrain News Agency, this initiative is aimed at Bahrainis, whether they are employed or jobseekers, and will provide world-class training led by international experts in five critical digital areas: Software Engineering with Java, Data Science, Cloud Engineering, Digital Marketing, and UX Design/Product Management. Participants will also receive personalized career coaching to help chart their professional path and ensure they are future-ready. Plus, the training will be delivered virtually, giving participants a flexible approach for learning. Maha Abdulhamid Mofeez, Chief Executive of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), emphasised the importance of future-proofing Bahrain's workforce with the right skills. "Tamkeen is prioritising tech training because this sector holds the key to some highly rewarding job opportunities for Bahrainis," Mofeez said. She highlighted that Tamkeen has rolled out several initiatives aimed at equipping the national workforce with the skills and expertise companies are looking for, resulting in training approximately 6% of Bahrainis employed in the private sector over the past three years. This aligns with the ultimate goal of making Bahrainis the first choice for employment in the private sector. As part of this initiative, Localised and Skills Union will collaborate to train Bahrainis and connect them with top industry experts and global employers to help them kick-start their careers. They will also provide a series of immersive 24-week programs designed specifically to close the skills gap that meets the needs of today's fas t-paced digital economy. This initiative aligns with Tamkeen's 2024 strategic priorities focused on economic impact and the private sector under three pillars: increasing economic participation through new employment opportunities for new entrants, expanding career development opportunities available to the Bahraini workforce, and further developing the private sector by supporting enterprises and boosting productivity and adoption of technology. Eligible Bahrainis interested in this career-transforming opportunity can apply through the following link: https://localized.world/tamkeen by 20 November 2024.
