Tamkeen Launches AI Training Programme for 50,000 Bahrainis

Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today highlighted significant local events, including the launch of a new initiative to train 50,000 Bahrainis in artificial intelligence (AI). This programme, spearheaded by Tamkeen, follows directives from His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of the Bahraini workforce in AI, aligning with the country's vision for technological advancement and innovation. This programme is expected to equip citizens with the necessary skills to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

In other developments, the Deputy Prime Minister met with the Secretary General of the Omani Council of Ministers, underscoring the ongoing dialogue between Bahrain and Oman. Additionally, Bahrain's Finance Minister also engaged with the Omani official, highlighting the importance of bilateral relations.

The Interior Minister of Bahrain met with the Executive Director of IISS-Middle East, while the Information Minister received media personality Hassan Kamal. These interactions reflect Bahrain's commitment to fostering international cooperation and media engagement.

In the realm of tourism, the Tourism Minister participated in a ministerial roundtable at the AIM Meeting in Abu Dhabi, which focused on promoting tourism and economic growth. Meanwhile, discussions on sustainable energy cooperation took place in Rome, led by Bahrain's Electricity Minister.

Other notable engagements included the Oil Minister's meeting with the Russian Governor of Perm Territory and the Justice Minister's discussions with the Serbian Ambassador and the CEO of BIBF. Furthermore, the Education Minister met with the CEO of Mumtalakat, emphasizing the importance of education and economic collaboration.

Bahrain is also strengthening its international relations through parliamentary cooperation with Azerbaijan and youth collaboration with Russia. A Bahraini parliamentary delegation supported a resolution for a two-state solution at the IPU meeting in Tashkent.

Bahrain participated in the joint annual meetings of Arab financial institutions and highlighted its strong ties with the UK through parliamentary cooperation. The First Deputy Speaker attended an IPU Parliamentary Diplomacy workshop, demonstrating Bahrain's active role in international diplomacy.

The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Bahrain Women's Union to enhance cooperation, and the Secretary General of the Council for International Dispute Resolution met with the UNCITRAL Secretary. Additionally, MP Hassan Ibrahim was elected to the IPU youth office representing the Arab Group.

Bahrain's Ambassador to France attended the OECD global forum in Paris, further reinforcing Bahrain's participation in global economic discussions and cooperation.
