Tamkeen Introduces New Incentives to Support ‘People of Determination’ Following Directives from HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad

Manama: In line with directives issued by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Educational Charitable Trust and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), Tamkeen announced the adoption of new incentives dedicated to 'People of Determination' within the National Employment Programme.

According to Bahrain News Agency, these initiatives align with the National Strategy for Persons with Disabilities and reflect Tamkeen's commitment to ensuring Bahrainis are the preferred choice of employment in the labour market. Under these new measures, Tamkeen will provide an additional 10% wage support per year during the support period for People of Determination employed in the private sector as part of the National Employment Programme.

This initiative is also aligned with one of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which focuses on ensuring access to healthy lives and well-being for all, including People of Determination. This further reflects the Kingdom of Bahrain's ongoing commitment to achieving SDGs through various programmes and initiatives.

The initiative aligns with Tamkeen's 2025 strategic priorities, which aim to strengthen the role and competitiveness of Bahrainis in the private sector. It focuses on helping Bahrainis build the skills needed for career growth, supporting enterprise development, promoting digitisation and sustainability, and enhancing the ecosystem around the labour market and private sector.
