Tamkeen and World Bank Collaborate on Labour Market Strategies Workshop

Manama: The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) hosted a labour market workshop in collaboration with the World Bank to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise regarding workforce development.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the three-day workshop was attended by 55 professionals from various government entities, including the Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Finance and National Economy, Ministry of Labour, and others. A delegation from the World Bank also participated, with discussions focusing on the latest updates, trends, opportunities, and challenges in the labor market.

The workshop featured training sessions, roundtable discussions, and lectures on topics such as training and upskilling, labor market policies, and economic inclusion of women. Alya Alaali, Chief Strategy and Data Analytics Officer at Tamkeen, emphasized the importance of exchanging knowledge with international entities to develop policies benefiting the local market and Bahrain's economy.

Safaa El-Tayeb El-Kogali, World Bank Country Director for the GCC, highlighted the Bank's commitment to supporting Bahrain in advancing its labour market policies. She noted that the workshop served as a valuable forum for discussing labour market trends and challenges, engaging key government stakeholders. El-Kogali added that such initiatives align with the World Bank's development agenda, making them both timely and essential.
