Tamkeen and Spring Launch Hackathon to Drive Innovation for GEW

Manama: The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) has announced the launch of Spring Hack: Powering What's Next, a dynamic innovation hackathon organized in collaboration with Spring as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2025. The initiative seeks to inspire creativity, collaboration, and technological problem-solving within Bahrain's entrepreneurial community, emphasizing innovation as a crucial factor for economic growth.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the event is scheduled for November 17 at the Riyada Hub, where participants from various professional and academic backgrounds will form teams to develop innovative prototypes and pitch their solutions within a three-hour intensive sprint. This initiative underscores Tamkeen's ongoing efforts to equip national talent with the necessary skills and mindset to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital economy and encourages the creation of sustainable, high-impact ventures.

Zainab Khamis, Managing Director of Spring, stated, "Through Spring Hack, we're channeling the power of collaboration and technology to unlock new opportunities for Bahrain's talent. It's about creating an environment where innovative thinking meets execution, and where ideas can grow into impactful ventures. We can't wait to see Bahrain's brightest minds step up, create, and power what's next."

Participants will be engaged in a structured journey throughout the evening, which includes a problem-solution fit workshop, no-code AI prototyping sessions, and guidance on developing impactful pitch decks. The hackathon will culminate in a live pitch competition, where teams will present their solutions to a panel of judges comprising experts and ecosystem leaders. This experience is designed to enhance participants' abilities to think critically, collaborate effectively, and apply technology to address real-world challenges within an accelerated timeframe.

The event will conclude with the recognition of outstanding teams across three categories: Best Pitch, Best Prototype, and Teamwork Award, celebrating their creativity, technical innovation, and collaborative spirit. All participants will be awarded a Certificate of Participation in recognition of their efforts and contribution to advancing innovation within Bahrain's entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Through initiatives like Spring Hack, Tamkeen reaffirms its commitment to supporting impactful programs that enhance the capabilities of Bahraini talent and enable the growth of innovative enterprises. This initiative aligns with Tamkeen's strategic priorities for 2025, which focus on enhancing the competitiveness of Bahrainis in the private sector, supporting enterprise growth and digital transformation, and strengthening the national innovation ecosystem.
