Sustainable Development Minister Participates in WGS 2026 Summit in Dubai

Dubai: Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of the Economic Development Board (EDB), participated in the World Governments Summit 2026 held in the United Arab Emirates.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister attended a meeting for First Ladies and global women leaders hosted on the sidelines of the summit by Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The meeting focused on enhancing cultural dialogue and the role of women in establishing trust as a foundation for sustainable communities. It further underscored HH Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed's commitment to expanding international cooperation and creating a lasting positive influence.

Minister Alkhulaif also participated as a keynote speaker in a high-level panel discussion on the sidelines of the WGS 2026 titled "Strengthening National Progress through Human Development." During the session, she emphasised that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Kingdom remains steadfast in its commitment to human capital as the primary driver of sustainable economic growth.

She highlighted the Kingdom's strategic focus on educational advancement, leadership development, and the implementation of forward-thinking policies that align workforce capabilities with evolving labour market demands. She also noted that accelerating digital transformation is essential to catalysing innovation and national productivity.
