Manama: Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA), chaired the council's 25th regular session of its fifth term. The council extended congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the successful launch of Bahrain's first locally designed satellite, Al Munther. This achievement was highlighted as a significant step in enhancing Bahrain's role in the space sector.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the council praised the efforts of national competences behind the Al Munther project and acknowledged the support of His Highness Major General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander, and Secretary-General of the Supreme Defence Council. The council also expressed appreciation for His Majesty the King's recognition of its role in promoting Islamic teachings, moderation, and interfaith dialogue, reaffirming its commitment to advancing His Majesty's vision in serving religion, the nation, and shared values.
In the spirit of the holy month, the council extended its congratulations to HM the King, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the government, and the people of Bahrain, as well as the Islamic nation, ahead of the last ten days of Ramadhan, wishing peace and blessings for all. They commended the royal support for places of worship and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister's directive to open, renovate, and restore 40 mosques across all governorates.
The council also reviewed preparations for the Laylat al-Qadr commemoration and the 29th Bahrain Holy Quran Grand Prize closing ceremony, both of which are to be held at the Ahmed Al Fateh Islamic Centre under His Majesty the King's patronage. Additionally, the council considered a letter from the Council of Representatives requesting its input on a legislative proposal and took the necessary decisions.
