Accra:The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) has introduced an upgraded customs clearance company authorisation service. This development allows importing establishments to authorise customs clearance companies electronically, facilitating the handling of shipments and materials under environmental controls according to the approved authorisation type and scope.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the new service automates a process that previously took 20 working days and simplifies it to just three steps. Key improvements include a reduction of the Service Level Agreement (SLA) by at least 25%, enhancements to the user interface and user experience, a simplification of procedures, automation of service delivery, a reduction in required approvals by 25%, and upgrades to existing systems. Additionally, service information has been standardised across all channels.
Amna Hamad Al Rumaihi, CEO of the SCE, highlighted that the service development accelerates authorisation procedures and automates approvals, thereby reducing the time needed for customs clearance companies to submit applications for customs release. This improves the efficiency of handling shipments and materials subject to environmental controls.
Al Rumaihi emphasized that these enhancements reflect the Council's commitment to improving regulatory and supervisory efficiency, as well as the quality of services provided to beneficiaries. She reaffirmed the Council's ongoing efforts to employ digital solutions and develop its services for a more seamless and convenient experience for beneficiaries.
