Sunni Endowments Directorate and UNIDO-ITPO Bahrain Launch SME Initiative


Manama: The General Directorate of Sunni Endowments and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization – Investment Technology Promotion Office (UNIDO-ITPO) in Bahrain announced a strategic partnership to launch the “Entrepreneurship and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development” project in Bahrain.



According to Bahrain News Agency, the project aims to harness endowment assets to drive national development, boost economic empowerment, and strengthen food security by linking productive and service sectors with entrepreneurship and innovation. It seeks to serve as a transformative model for sustainable development in the region.



Shaikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futais Al Hajri, Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council, highlighted the strategic value of the partnership with UNIDO in advancing Bahrain’s development objectives and making productive use of endowment resources.



Hashim Hussein, Head of UNIDO-ITPO Bahrain, expressed his support for the initiative, noting its potential to foster inclusive growth and sustainable innovation.



The project will be showcased at the 6th World Entrepreneurs and Investment Forum (WEIF 2026), highlighting its global relevance and investment potential.
