Mogadishu: Somali security forces foiled a suicide attack by an armed assailant in front of Damaayo military base in the capital, Mogadishu.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the security forces intercepted the attacker, who attempted to target numerous civilians, thereby preventing significant casualties.
Security agencies are assessing the outcome of the incident and have urged citizens to rely on official information. The attack comes amid ongoing clashes with Al Shabaab, which is affiliated with Al Qaeda. Mogadishu has witnessed similar bombings in the past, including an October 2024 attack that killed seven people.
