Manama: Aymen bin Tawfiq Almoayyed, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), received a delegation from the Kurdistan Foundation, headed by Dr. Yara Barzanji, Director General of the Foundation.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was attended by Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs; Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Assistant Secretary-General of the SCYS; Shaikha Deena bint Rashid Al Khalifa, Planning and Development Advisor at the Ministry of Youth Affairs; and Noora Ahmed Al Balushi, Director General of Planning and Resources at the General Secretariat of the SCYS. From the Kurdistan Foundation, the delegation also included Ghashbin Tariq Najeeb, Director of Partnerships; Ahmad Safa, Communications Director; and Vina Sherzad Sultan, Business Liaison Supervisor.
The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kurdistan Region in the field of youth, with an emphasis on exchanging expertise and developing joint initiatives and programmes to support youth empowerment.
Almoayyed highlighted the significance of advancing regional and international cooperation in youth and sports, stating that such meetings facilitate knowledge exchange, capacity building, and the development of programmes and initiatives that benefit the youth in Bahrain.
Dr. Barzanji expressed appreciation for the strong ties between the Kingdom and Kurdistan. She noted that the Kurdistan Foundation aims to empower individuals and promote values of belonging and community participation through various initiatives, including the digital volunteering platform Volunteer.KRD.
Both parties agreed to maintain coordination to develop practical projects and programmes that serve youth in both communities, fostering communication and cooperation between peoples.
