Manama:Statura has become the first company in the Kingdom of Bahrain to receive a Category C Trust Company License from the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB). This significant achievement was announced at Gateway Gulf, an event organized by the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB) on November 1-2, 2026, at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Category C Trust Service Provider License, introduced in 2024, allows Statura to enter into contractual agreements with local Category A licensed trustees for administrative and operational support. This licensing is a testament to Bahrain's status as a hub for specialised financial and professional services, which is supported by a regulatory framework facilitating international firms' operations within the Kingdom.
Donatello Pirlo, Managing Partner of Statura, remarked that obtaining the license is a crucial step for Statura as it expands its international footprint. He highlighted the company's expertise in corporate, trust, and private client services, which is bolstered by their cross-border experience. This enables Statura to assist businesses, families, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals globally, and the firm aims to enhance its services in Bahrain to better serve regional and international clients.
Dalal Buhejji, Executive Director of Financial Services at the Bahrain EDB, emphasized Bahrain's competitive business environment and regulatory framework, which provide a clear path for international firms to set up and grow in the Kingdom. She noted that the CBB plays a vital role in ensuring a well-regulated financial sector that supports innovation while maintaining regulatory standards. Statura's new license exemplifies the opportunities available in Bahrain for specialized firms looking to access regional markets.
Statura is known for its corporate, trust, and private client services that include tax advisory, accounting and tax compliance, corporate services, and multi-family office services. Its global presence spans offices in London, Dubai, Milan, and Tirana, serving clients across diverse markets.
Gateway Gulf serves as a platform for showcasing Bahrain's investment potential and supporting businesses in developing new capabilities and serving regional markets. It convenes international investors, business leaders, and policymakers to explore investment prospects and strengthen cross-border partnerships, with Statura's license announcement underscoring the Kingdom's appeal to international firms offering specialized services.
