Speaker, Works Minister, MP Asbool Inspect Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah Avenue Development Project

Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, and Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj, Minister of Works, conducted an inspection of the second phase of the Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah Avenue development project. The visit was also attended by MP Mohsen Ali Al Asbool, representing the ninth constituency in the Capital Governorate, and Shaikh Mishaal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the officials were briefed on the project's details, which form part of the strategic initiatives planned by the ministry, with support from the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development. Al Musallam commended the ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure services, reflecting Bahrain's sustainable development progress under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He emphasized that such projects are investments in Bahrain's future and meet the needs of citizens and residents.

The Speaker stressed the importance of continued coordination between executive bodies and representatives to ensure high standards in project implementation. He highlighted the council's support for initiatives that enhance quality of life and ease traffic flow, particularly in rapidly growing urban areas.

Minister Al Hawaj stated that the project is part of the government's programme to improve infrastructure efficiency, enhance the road network, reduce congestion, and support urban expansion, aligning with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030. He noted that the avenue serves residential areas and hosts numerous commercial and industrial outlets. The second phase includes expanding the street to four lanes in each direction, constructing five flyovers, creating service roads on both sides, and installing safety measures for pedestrian crossings.

MP Al Asbool praised the ministry's efforts in implementing strategic projects that benefit citizens and residents. He noted the project's direct impact on improving infrastructure, reducing congestion, and facilitating pedestrian movement between Ma'ameer and Aker amid population growth. He emphasized the importance of ongoing follow-up on development projects and the commitment to conveying citizens' needs to the relevant authorities.

Saleh Tarada, Chairman of the Capital Municipal Council, expressed appreciation for the project's implementation, highlighting its role in improving daily mobility and reducing congestion. He emphasized the council's support for such projects and the importance of continued cooperation among the concerned parties to ensure implementation according to modern standards and the agreed timetable.
