Speaker Receives UK Ambassador to Discuss Parliamentary Cooperation

Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, received Alastair Long, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting focused on enhancing the longstanding ties and strategic partnership between Bahrain and the UK.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Speaker highlighted the parliamentary support for advancing the relationship between the two nations. He credited the steady progress of these ties to the dedication of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Head of the Commonwealth.

Al Musallam emphasized the Council's commitment to fostering cooperation across various developmental sectors in collaboration with the UK House of Commons. This effort aims to serve the shared interests of both countries and their people.

Ambassador Long, on his part, noted the growing partnership between Bahrain and the UK, emphasizing the productive collaboration across different domains. He praised Bahrain's initiatives to promote peace and support sustainable development in the region, and commended the Council's role in enhancing parliamentary cooperation.
