Speaker Of The Turkish Parliament: Attacking The Qur’an In Europe Is A Violation Of Human Values

The Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Numan Kurtulmus, described the repeated attacks on the Holy Quran in Europe as an attack on basic human values.

Numan Kurtulmus said during his meeting last night with representatives of civil society organizations in the eastern state of Erzurum: that Turkey has presented its objections and condemned from the highest levels the attack on Muslim sanctities, especially the recent burning of the Qur’an in Europe.

He added, “This attack on Islam is not just an attack on the values of Islam and Muslims; it is an attack on basic human values, and those who watch these attacks as if they are watching a match from the stands, are in fact preparing their own end.”

A far-right Danish anti-Islam group calling itself “Danske Patrioter” (Danish Patriots) had burned a copy of the Holy Qur’an in front of the Iraqi embassy in Copenhagen.

It is noteworthy that the same group had earlier attacked the Holy Quran and burned the Turkish flag in front of the Turkish embassy in Copenhagen.
