Speaker of Representatives: UNESCO-King Hamad Prize a Global Platform for Innovative Education

Manama: During the 2025 UNESCO-King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Prize for the Use of ICT in Education ceremony, held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at the University of Bahrain, Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, emphasised that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under His Majesty's leadership, prioritises education, culture, and knowledge as pillars of national progress and international cooperation through royal initiatives that promote learning and innovation.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Musallam commended the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for developing Bahrain's education system, integrating modern technologies, and preparing youth for future opportunities.

Al Musallam expressed pride in Bahrain's cooperation with UNESCO and its prominent global standing rooted in advanced educational institutions and strong cultural values. He stated that the prize has become a global platform for innovative education, reflecting Bahrain's partnership with UNESCO in promoting digital learning. Hosting the event in Bahrain for the first time, on its 20th anniversary, underscores the importance of the royal initiative.

He commended the efforts of Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, in advancing Bahrain's educational achievements and congratulated the University of Bahrain on entering the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for the first time. The Speaker also congratulated the prize winners for their projects promoting ethical and innovative technology use in education.
