Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, emphasized that the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has positioned humanitarian work as a comprehensive development framework and a fundamental Bahraini value. This vision enhances international solidarity, encourages humanitarian contributions, and supports global peace, security, and stability.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Musallam commended the support and follow-up from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in spotlighting Bahrain's efforts through international cooperation in delivering humanitarian and relief assistance to countries and peoples affected by conflicts and disasters. These efforts are guided by royal directives, Bahrain's national principles, Islamic and humanitarian values, and the Kingdom's deeply rooted community culture.

The Speaker acknowledged the humanitarian and development role of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), chaired by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Foundation's Board of Trustees. The RHF's initiatives, projects, and programs support orphans, widows, families, and other groups, and it contributes significantly to regional and international humanitarian and relief work. This includes providing education and healthcare services to those affected by conflicts in the region, particularly aiding the Palestinian people.

Marking World Humanitarian Day, observed annually on August 19, Al Musallam noted Bahrain's proud record and long-standing history in humanitarian, charitable, and relief work. This has made the country a leading model in this vital domain, strengthening ties with nations in line with the royal vision that prioritizes human welfare and dignity.

The Speaker added that parliamentary diplomacy continues to play an important role in supporting Bahrain's humanitarian diplomacy by participating in regional and international forums and showcasing initiatives that reflect the Kingdom's values and principles.

He also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) in reinforcing Bahrain's status as an active international partner in promoting solidarity, partnership, human fraternity, tolerance, coexistence, and respect for human rights and dignity.
