Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, received Nabeel Khalid Kanoo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI). The meeting was also attended by MP Abdulnabi Salman Ahmed, First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Representatives, and MP Ahmed Abdulwahid Qarata, Second Deputy Chairman.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Speaker congratulated the Chairman and members of the Board on their election for the 31st term. He expressed confidence in their ability to enhance institutional efficiency, serve the private sector, and meet the aspirations of the business community. Their strategy includes a focus on empowering small and medium-sized enterprises.
Al Musallam affirmed the private sector's role as a strategic partner in parliamentary work. He noted ongoing efforts and cooperation with commercial stakeholders to develop the economic legislative framework, aiming to achieve the objectives of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030. This aligns with the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He highlighted the shared commitment to supporting bilateral work and cooperation between the legislative authority and the private sector. Commending HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister's directives, he noted the payment of salaries for Bahraini employees insured in private sector companies for April from the Unemployment Insurance Fund supports the private sector and safeguards national employment and economic activity.
Al Musallam also acknowledged the private sector's pivotal role in national economic growth, its efforts in creating quality opportunities for citizens, and its commitment to ensuring that Bahraini citizens remain a priority in employment, training, and the labour market.
Kanoo expressed gratitude to the Speaker and members of the Council for their support of the private sector and for their cooperation with the BCCI in pursuing national progress and prosperity. He praised the legislative authority's efforts to strengthen strategic partnerships with the Chamber and the private sector, advancing economic pathways, and creating an attractive legislative environment for investment, thus contributing to national economic growth and job creation.
