Speaker: 762 Topics Approved, Third Session Most Productive

Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, commended the efforts of the Council members in achieving parliamentary progress, especially in legislation and oversight. He highlighted that this supports the Council's role in promoting parliamentary and democratic work during His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's comprehensive development process.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Musallam emphasised that these achievements result from close cooperation with the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Shura Council chaired by Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, and all partners including state institutions, civil society, national media, and citizens.

The Speaker also commended Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Council of Representatives, for implementing parliamentary plans and fostering teamwork across all departments.

He noted that during the previous sessions of the sixth legislative term, the House approved 762 topics, including decrees, bills, and proposals. Of these, 301 were approved in the third session, making it the most productive session.

He added that the third session of the sixth legislative term saw the Council approve vital topics and issues across all domains. He highlighted that these support the Kingdom's development, meet citizens' needs on various matters, and reflect the Council's commitment to moving forward in achieving the desired aspirations and goals, while delivering the best professional practices with quality and precision.

The Secretary General was instructed to prepare early and plan effectively for the fourth session of the sixth legislative term, forming working teams and coordinating with relevant bodies to support parliamentary work going forward.
