SPAC launches new program on Gov’t services management

The Service and Public Administration Commission (SPAC) launched on Tuesday a training program entitled “Managing Government Services”, as part of the capacity-building project for human resources and institutional development units in the SPAC and government departments, in cooperation with the Public Sector Modernization Map Implementation and Management Unit with the support of the European Union (EU).

Yasser Al Nsour, Executive Director of SPAC Technical Support and Consultancy Department, pointed out the importance of upgrading the level of government services provided to citizens as one of the priorities of the Public Sector Modernization Plan to reach an empowered and effective public sector.

He stressed SPAC’s commitment to providing all forms of technical and advisory support to government departments to enable them to play their new roles in the transformation process to an administrative approach based on centralized policy-making and planning and decentralized implementation, in line with the ou
tcomes of the Public Sector Modernization Map and the Civil Service Human Resources Strategy 2023-2027.

The training program included several themes, including: developing government services policies, designing services, identifying needs, performance standards and indicators, mechanisms for evaluating government services, strategies for their development, as well as governance and compliance in the provision of government services.

It also includes topics aimed at enabling participants to manage government services efficiently and provide them to citizens in a proper and required manner, which reflects positively on the level of customer satisfaction and the quality of various government services.
