Southern Governorate Celebrates Supporters of 2025 Initiatives

Manama: Southern Governorate With the support and supervision of His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate, the annual ceremony to honour the entities supporting and cooperating in the governorate's 2025 programmes and initiatives was held, following the success achieved in partnership and cooperation. The event was attended by Colonel Hamad Mohammed Al Khayyat, Deputy Governor, and senior representatives from government bodies, civil society, banks, and private institutions, at the Police Officers' Club.

According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali stated that the ceremony was held to honour leading sponsors and contributors whose efforts were key to achievements in the security, development, and social domains. His Highness commended the initiatives that met citizens' needs across different areas and emphasised that the successful contributions of supporting entities positively highlighted the impact of joint cooperation throughout the year and strengthened community and developmental partnerships. HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali also noted the governorate's role in providing high-quality services, highlighting its accreditation as a Healthy Governorate, a significant milestone in the region's development.

The ceremony began with a welcoming speech and a recitation from the Holy Qur'an, followed by a speech from Maryam Isa Al Munai, Director of Human and Financial Resources in the Southern Governorate, expressing pride in the governorate's ongoing achievements and success under HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali's guidance in enhancing communication with various sectors to implement more projects and initiatives.

On her part, Dr. Maryam Al Hajri, Vice President of the Bahrain Diabetes Society, spoke on behalf of the honourees, thanking HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali for fostering sustained community partnerships and for organising the ceremony to honour the entities supporting and cooperating in the governorate's initiatives and programmes, commending the enhanced cooperation between the governorate and civil institutions.

During the ceremony, a short film was shown highlighting the Southern Governorate's achievements in the security, development, and social sectors in 2025. HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali honoured the cooperating entities on the occasion of the World Health Organisation's (WHO) designation of the Southern Governorate as a "Healthy Governorate," recognising the efforts of all government, private, and civil society organisations in promoting public health. His Highness also honoured the supporting and cooperating entities in the governorate's programmes and initiatives, including sponsors from private and government sectors, civil society organisations, and media institutions.
