Somalia and Djibouti Sign MoU to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation

Mogadishu: Abdisalam Abdi Ali, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia, held a meeting with Ambassador Abdulqadir Hussein Omar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Djibouti, who is on an official visit to the country. The discussions centered on enhancing bilateral relations and promoting mutually beneficial cooperation.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the talks covered a wide range of issues, including security collaboration, regional stability, and international matters of common interest. Both ministers underscored the importance of close coordination in advancing peace, development, and prosperity across the Horn of Africa, according to the Somali National News Agency (SONNA).

During the meeting, the two ministries signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on political consultations, establishing a formal mechanism for regular dialogue between Somalia and Djibouti. The agreement is expected to strengthen diplomatic cooperation and advance the two countries' priorities at the regional and global levels.
