Manama: Ahmed Moallin Fiqi, Minister of Defence of the Federal Republic of Somalia, met with Admiral Dong Jun, Minister of Defence of the People's Republic of China, in Beijing during the Xiangshan Forum on Defence.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this meeting marked the first ministerial-level engagement between the two nations in nearly four decades, signifying a significant step towards enhancing strategic relations between Somalia and China.
The discussions aimed at developing bilateral cooperation in security and defence, as well as the exchange of military expertise. Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership and advancing historical relations between their countries based on mutual respect and common interests.
