Manama: The Social Insurance Organisation (SIO) has enhanced its pension disbursement request service for private sector employees, as part of ongoing government efforts to improve service quality and streamline processes.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the upgraded service enables eligible insured individuals in the private sector to submit pension requests electronically without the need for in-person visits, reducing processing time from 30 working days to five days through a unified review and approval process by the concerned department, followed by disbursement and inclusion in the monthly pension list.
The development also reduced application steps from seven to four, shortened service delivery timelines, and consolidated procedures into a single workflow. Improvements included unifying service information across official channels and enhancing the system interface and user experience to improve accessibility, efficiency, and reliability.
Sahar Rashid Al Mannai, Chief Executive Officer of the SIO, said the service reflects ongoing efforts to enhance service quality, simplify procedures, reduce processing time, and improve operational efficiency and effectiveness, adding that similar improvements are expected to extend to other services.
The development aligns with broader government initiatives to improve public services, under which more than 1,300 services have been documented, translated, and published, with around 800 undergoing development and reengineering across sectors. These efforts are based on feedback received through the National Suggestions and Complaints System "Tawasul", investor input, and service evaluation reports, alongside the introduction of guidance manuals and service level agreements to enhance efficiency, service quality, and user experience, and support government digital transformation.
