Social Development Minister Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor paid an inspection visit to Sharifa Al Awadhi Youth and Children Club and took stock of programmes and events during summer vacations.
Present were members of the National Childhood Commission, representatives of the governmental and private establishments.
The club which is targeting children aged 7 to 18 is delivering 44 summer programs, in addition to five field visits.
The minister was also briefed about children-centered artistic, cultural and sports activities, programmes and training workshops aimed to meet their needs.
In a statement on the sidelines of the visit, the minister stressed the importance of engaging children and youngsters to take part in programmes aimed at building their personalities and nurturing the values of citizenship and spirit of belonging to the nation.
