Manama: Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development, received Lana Khalil Al Wreikat, United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Representative to the Kingdom of Bahrain, residing in Riyadh. Minister Al Alawi commended the longstanding cooperation between Bahrain and UNICEF, especially in child protection and care. He reiterated Bahrain’s commitment to continuing to develop social services for children and highlighted the ministry’s efforts to implement programmes and initiatives that provide a safe and supportive environment for children’s growth and enhance their community participation.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting also involved a review of several projects and policies the ministry is implementing with relevant partners to strengthen social protection for children. Al Wreikat expressed appreciation for Bahrain’s efforts in protecting children’s rights and reiterated UNICEF’s readiness to enhance technical cooperation and share expertise to support the de
velopment of national initiatives and achieve shared goals in child welfare and development.
