The laboratories of the Pathology Department at Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) obtained the ISO 15189 Certification for meeting quality standards of the accreditation and the competence of its medical and technical staff.
The department underwent a series of assessments that included a technical review of laboratory operations and auditing all processes for conducting tests.
During a ceremony to celebrate the accreditation, Dr. Ahmed Mohammad Al Ansari, Government Hospitals CEO, lauded the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for the medical sector.
He also praised the directives of Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) and the support of the Board of Trustees of Governmental Hospitals chaired by Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa.
Dr. Al Ansari stressed that Government Hospitals will continue to work towards obtaining global accreditations, raising productivity and improving performance, noting that quality is a priority that is in line with the Kingdom’s initiatives, which aim to develop the health sector and improve the quality of health services.
