SLRB Partners with Aetosky for Advanced AI System to Monitor Building Violations

Manama: As part of using artificial intelligence (AI) and improving the geospatial data system, the Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) has signed an agreement with the international company "Aetosky" to implement the second phase of a system that detects changes and building violations using AI.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Basim bin Yacob Al Hamer, President of the SLRB, stated that this system is one of the key projects supporting the expansion of digital systems and improving coordination between government agencies. The integration of AI technology aims to enhance process efficiency, improve data accuracy, expedite decision-making, and elevate the quality of services provided to the public. This initiative aligns with the Government Programme (2023 - 2026), particularly in areas related to government performance and digital transformation.

He further explained that this phase seeks to transfer and localize AI technology within the Bureau and build local skills to manage and develop the system internally. The objective is to offer sustainable, high-quality government services that cater to public needs and boost the Bureau's digital readiness. The project employs satellite images to detect both natural and urban changes across different parts of the Kingdom.

Al Hamer also highlighted that this system builds on the success of the first phase, which was launched in coordination with the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture. The initial phase resulted in over a 60% improvement in monitoring efficiency, which prompted the launch of the second phase. The expansion will extend the system's use to other government agencies, enhancing government performance, strengthening spatial data, and integrating advanced technology with government services.

Abhay Swarup Mittal, CEO of Aetosky, remarked that this agreement is an exemplary instance of cooperation between the public and private sectors in digital transformation. He emphasized that the agreement is centered on knowledge transfer and developing national capabilities. The Bureau will receive a smart platform utilizing the latest AI technologies to detect changes with high accuracy and generate reports to assist government decision-makers in improving services and achieving digital transformation objectives.

This partnership underscores the Bureau's commitment to collaborating with the private sector to enhance government performance and foster stronger cooperation among all concerned agencies to meet national goals.
