Moscow: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, attended a session of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, at the invitation of Valentina Matvienko, Speaker of the Russian Federation Council.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the session began with a welcoming address by the chairwoman, who commended the visit of the Shura Council and their efforts in strengthening parliamentary ties between Bahrain and Russia. This reflects the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to deepen Bahraini-Russian relations.
Al Saleh also delivered a speech in which he highlighted the depth and strength of Bahraini-Russian relations and expressed aspirations for greater cooperation and coordination between the two countries.
The delegation commended Russia's parliamentary experience and its legislative and political legacy, which supports its role as an influential international player. They highlighted the important role of the Federal Assembly in shaping national policy and drafting legislation that contributes to Russia's economic development and growth.
The delegation also noted the commitment of the Federation Council's leadership and members to strengthening parliamentary relations with Bahrain and continuing coordination in regional and international forums.
They described attending the Federation Council session as an opportunity to learn from Russia's parliamentary procedures, including agenda-setting, discussion mechanisms, and voting processes, further enhancing the exchange of expertise and strengthening bilateral legislative cooperation.
