Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Speaker of the Shura Council, welcomed Yousef Muhammad Bozboun, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Society for Tolerance and Coexistence of Religions (Ta'ayush). Al Saleh acknowledged the significant contribution of Ta'ayush in fostering tolerance across different segments of society and reinforcing the values of harmony and mutual respect. He emphasized the importance of the Society's programmes, which include social, cultural, and awareness activities that align with its vision and goals.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the chairman underscored that the efforts of the Society reflect Bahrain's civilised and humanitarian image, portraying it as a model of religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence. This image is derived from the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. During the meeting, Bozboun presented Al Saleh with a book documenting the visit of the Grand Imam of Al Azhar and the Pope of the Vatican to Bahrain. The book illustrates His Majesty King Hamad's dedication to promoting tolerance, dialogue, and coexistence among various religions and cultures.
Al Saleh expressed his gratitude for the book's comprehensive documentation of the King's efforts in establishing Bahrain as an oasis of coexistence and openness. He praised the proactive role of the "Ta'ayush" Society in enhancing Bahrain's civilised image. He reiterated that Bahrain's religious freedoms and cultural diversity are rooted in a noble royal vision that prioritizes human dignity and peace, positioning the Kingdom as a global model of inclusivity and mutual respect.
Bozboun, in turn, expressed his appreciation to the Shura Council for their support. He highlighted the continuation of initiatives aimed at community service and showcasing Bahrain's positive image as a beacon of tolerance and coexistence. He acknowledged the support from the legislative authority, which enhances the impact and integration of community efforts in achieving national objectives.
