Shura Council Chairman Strengthens Ties with Russian Duma Chairman

Moscow: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, met Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, during his official visit to Moscow. The meeting underscored the robust Bahraini-Russian relations and highlighted the significance of enhancing parliamentary cooperation, exchanging legislative expertise, and supporting mutual interests through coordinated efforts in regional and international forums.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Saleh emphasized Bahrain's successful parliamentary diplomacy, guided by the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Since the establishment of Bahrain's legislative authority over two decades ago, this diplomacy has played a crucial role in building partnerships and promoting Bahrain's regional and global influence. Al Saleh highlighted the Kingdom's commitment, supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to empowering women and youth as part of its sustainable development agenda.

The Shura Council Chairman expressed pride in the progress of Bahraini-Russian relations and the cooperation across vital domains. He noted that the visit aims to expand collaboration and implement bilateral agreements beneficial to both countries. Al Saleh also emphasized Bahrain's alignment with international efforts to promote peace, tolerance, dialogue, and peaceful coexistence.

Volodin welcomed the Shura Council Chairman and his delegation, describing the visit as crucial for strengthening the relations between Russia and Bahrain. He praised Bahrain's development under the leadership of His Majesty the King and recognized the Kingdom as a model of coexistence and growth. Volodin reiterated the Duma's commitment to advancing parliamentary cooperation with Bahrain and fostering dialogue to support shared developmental goals.

The meeting was attended by several key figures, including Dr. Jihad Abdullah Al Fadhel, Second Deputy Chairperson of the Shura Council; Khalid Hussain Al Maskati, Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee; Dr. Mohammed Ali Hassan, Chairman of the Public Utilities and Environment Committee; Kareema Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary General of the Shura Council; and members of the Russian Duma. Bahrain's Ambassador to Russia, Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Saati, was also present.
