Shura Council Chairman Strengthens Bilateral Ties with Sri Lankan Ambassador

Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Shura Council Chairman, received Shereen Shanika Dissanayake, Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Bahrain. He commended the ambassador's diplomatic efforts to strengthen ties between the two countries and enhance cooperation and coordination across various domains. The chairman affirmed that the continued development and growth of ties between Bahrain and Sri Lanka reflect the shared commitment to supporting bilateral interests and strengthening existing partnerships between the two countries.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Saleh highlighted the Shura Council's keenness to strengthen parliamentary relations with Sri Lanka, develop cooperation and coordination between the Shura Council and the Sri Lankan Parliament, exchange parliamentary expertise and experiences, and continue coordination and cooperation at regional and international parliamentary forums. This contributes to supporting bilateral relations and strengthening ties between the two friendly countries.

For her part, the ambassador expressed pride in the historical ties between Bahrain and Sri Lanka. She affirmed that Bahrain is a country of peace and harmony, and that it prospers through its security, stability, tolerance, and coexistence among all.

The ambassador noted that there are several areas of cooperation with the Kingdom, particularly in trade and investment. She affirmed the commitment to strengthening trade, economic, and tourism relations for the benefit of both countries and their peoples.
